Terms of Use
1. Who we are; agreement to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and EightyTwo, an independent software publisher based in the United Arab Emirates (“EightyTwo”, “we”, “us”), covering your use of the Orva Player application for Samsung Smart TVs (the “App”) and the orvaplayer.tv website. By installing or using the App you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What the App is — and what it is not
The App is a media player. It plays live-television playlists and video libraries that you supply, and organises them with features such as a programme guide, favourites, search and resume.
The App includes no content. We do not provide, sell, host, index, publish, promote or recommend any channels, broadcasts, films, series or other media, and no purchase relating to the App includes any content. The App contains no directory of content providers, and we are not affiliated with any. Compatibility with common playlist formats (such as M3U or Xtream-style APIs) is a technical capability, not an endorsement of any service that uses them.
Playback is a direct connection between your television and the source you configure. We never receive, store, proxy, cache, re-stream or record streams.
3. Your content sources and your responsibility
You are solely responsible for the playlists and sources you add and for what you access through them. You must hold the rights or permissions required for the content you play, and you must comply with the laws that apply to you. The App must not be used to access content unlawfully; if you are unsure whether a service is lawful, do not add it. We may refuse support relating to unlawful use.
4. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on supported Samsung devices for your own private use. You may not copy (beyond what use reasonably requires), modify, distribute, sell, rent or provide the App as a service to others, and you may not reverse-engineer it except to the extent a law permits this despite the present clause. The App includes open-source components licensed under their own terms; the required notices are included in the App package.
5. Purchases (where offered)
Some features may require payment. Prices, and what a purchase includes (for example, the number of devices), are shown before you buy. Payments are processed by Samsung Checkout under Samsung’s terms; refunds are handled in accordance with Samsung Checkout policies and applicable consumer law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the App for unlawful purposes; interfere with or disrupt the App or the systems of any third party; circumvent the technical or security measures of any service; or use the App where such use is prohibited.
7. Third-party services
Your content sources, the optional weather providers described in the Privacy Policy, and the Samsung platform are third-party services with their own terms. We are not responsible for them, for their availability, or for their content.
8. Availability and changes
We may update the App and add, change or remove features. We do not promise that the App or any particular feature will remain available indefinitely. Stream quality and reliability depend on your sources and your network, not on us.
9. Intellectual property
The App, the Orva name and logo, and this website are the property of EightyTwo or its licensors. These terms give you no right to use our names or branding. Content you access through your own sources is not ours and remains subject to the rights of its owners.
10. Content complaints
We host no content, so reports about specific channels or streams should be directed to the service actually hosting them. If you believe the App itself infringes your rights, contact support@orvaplayer.tv with details and we will respond promptly.
11. Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not responsible for the availability, quality, legality or safety of content or services provided by third parties, including your playlist sources.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from or relating to the App. Our total liability for all claims will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim or, if you have paid nothing, one hundred UAE dirhams (AED 100). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law or affects non-waivable consumer rights.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims arising from the sources you add or from your breach of sections 3 or 6.
14. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature survive termination (including 9 and 11–13) survive.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts — without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections, or of the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence where the law grants it.
16. General
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor of the Orva Player business. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the App.
